ygdrazil Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I work at a Hospital in Tanzania, and we have allot of different stores (containers, Department store and such). The problem is that we don't have a central overview of what is in the container, who is responsible for this and that and who can access it.What i am looking for (have/are checkin souce forge, different PHP sites and Google) is a server based program with a central database and a browser interface (PHP/MySQL preferably so I can use my Linux server). There must be option to make stores, with name, location, owner, department.Items should have category for name, type, description (longer text), number, owner, etcThere should be possibilities to make user and group them, and then assign rights to different groups.Has someone seen this? would be nice if it was freeware, as we don't have much money and are dependent on donations for our daily running......Kind RegardsYgg

bj-kaiser Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 (edited) Just an idea. Because my boss insists on doing the inventory in a Works 4.5 DB, I never had the chance to test it.GLPI combined with OCS Inventoryhttp://www.glpi-project.org/spip.php?lang=enhttp://ocsinventory.sourceforge.net/ Edited December 9, 2006 by bj-kaiser
ringfinger Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I've used MMS (Material Management System) which is primarily offered by a company called Agilisys. The system we have runs on an old school AS/400 server and is command line, but not VERY VERY command line, there are built in menus, they also offer a GUI version. This sysetm is very power if you get down and dirty and learn how to use it. It does everything you requested and far far more, but just like everything, costs money. I would highly recommend it however.
