CptMurphy Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 What kind of router is it? Whats happening is the router is attempting to relearn links from when it was on. Just leave it on. If you want security, use access lists.
grafx1 Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Conexant router,... Thanks for the advice but we had tried to leave it onbut it didn't respond also in the next day when i tried to access the net but when we turn it off then on, it respond.
rendrag Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 in the morning, is it roughly the same time each morning you try to access the net? Is it possible there are access rules in that router that turn off web access during certain periods of time? I know my linksys one has that feature, though I'm not sure about yours.
grafx1 Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Thanks for your support, i'm trying to find what's wrong
jcarle Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Very common with ADSL. Because ADSL connection usually require a login, after long periods of inactivity the connection gets dropped and then when you first try to access the internet it will have to re-establish the connection with your provider before you can access the internet. Hence the delay.
grafx1 Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 really ? and what about splitter, can a bad splitter do that as the router was ok from a year ago and it wasn't dropping...Thanks.

It's standard practice with ADSL modems to plug them into their own jack.
grafx1 Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) sorry what's the mean of "It's standard practice with ADSL modems to plug them into their own jack."thanks jcarle for the info... Edited November 11, 2006 by grafx1
jcarle Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 sorry what's the mean of "It's standard practice with ADSL modems to plug them into their own jack."It means most of the time when you have an ADSL modem you try to plug them into the wall outlet by themselves using the shortest wire possible and no splitters. This reduces the chances of interferance.
