"windows movie maker"

Well, we've been designing a powerpoint style slide presentation of all the photos taken of our class for the year, using windows movie maker.

The program is fine, but after x amount of photos and transitions the program gets laggy, and the movie made becomes un-encodable due to length and transitions. It is obvious that it is due to the program, as we have a more than capable computer, and the software, windows movie maker, was not intended to make powerpoint style movies.

This means we need to reduce transitions and reduce length.

Another problem, is that we are left with a "wma" file at the end of it, which i am forced to convert to dvd format. This means that by the end of all the editing, there are many kinks in the film that can only be brought down to a minimum after at least 20 tries and 30 blank dvd's. ( Our final product, had 2 minor errors in play, and took 3 weeks of attempts, this is something that we need to avoid.)

The help required, is a program, which we can use, that we will be able to create a powerpoint style presentation, that is able to have music alongside it, with transition effects(not a total must), that will not lag out the system when it gets to photos up in the 100's, and will be able to be saved straight onto dvd, to be played on any dvd player (desperate feature).

thank you very much.
