In your case

[Strings]
DISK="LG Monitor Profiles Installation Disk"

It is just the name given to the disk from which the inf file is located, and possibly its location.

The description can be any name you want, you can use a tagfile which is the name of any file at the root of the installation disk. This is a file which will need to be in situ' in order for the inf location to be verified. The subdir should be a location of the sourcediskfiles relative to the inf file.
