Your best bet for free is going to http://www.1010mb.com making a account there and then installing phpBB2 and then wait for phpBB3 to come out which will be very soon, then browse the phpBB site for add ons you could try setting up a Java IRC client and making your own IRC channel on quakenet or a decent IRC server .

They have this bar off to the right that says "Link Link Link Link Link", and all of those links go to - nowhere! WTF? That alone made me not trust their site. Either they have stupid coders who leave "Link Link Link Link Link" on the home page or something. Totally bizarre. Anyhow, a very similarly-named site that I have been using for a while is 9999mb.com. They seem to have pretty good service. And no Link Link Link, either.
May 16, 200719 yr a paid webhost is just soo much better! great speeds too, im getting 1000+kb/s.i have basically an unlimited amount of space+bandwidth also. for 5$ a mont its not a bad deal.
May 23, 200719 yr I just signed up for a funpic.org account. The FTP space and file hosting works (http://zxian.zx.funpic.org) but they'll inject an ad into your HTML pages.For image hosting it works though.
