Hotfix integration problems with 1.2b

Featured Replies

Hi Nuhi!

First of all I am using nLite to update a Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM Danish (DAN/DK)

With the new 1.2b I seem to be having problems with the following 2 hotfixes:

(KB918899) ie6.0sp1-kb918899-windows-2000-xp-v2-x86-dan.exe

nLite says this hotfix is not for my version of Windows

KB925486 - Hotfix integration failed.

Both of these hotfixes show up on Windows Update on first visit after installation of XP.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

-druid

r u kidding ???

first hotfix is for ie sp1 for xp sp1 and win 2k sp4...so it will not work integrated on a xp sp2 source never ever.....

No I'm serious I will get a screenshot made so you can see for your self.

Anyway until then, what about hotfix KB925486?

boooggy, yes I read your post and understand it perfectly fine.

What I am dazzled about here is WHY does Windows Update want me to install it then?

Just for clarification - the hotfix that refuses to integrate is filename WindowsXP-KB925486-x86-DAN.exe.

Here you can see this PC is indeed running XP SP2:

Aha!

boooggy I see there is also a file named WindowsXP-KB918899-x86-DAN.exe which IS for XP SP2.

First, thank you for taking time to respond to my post.

Secondly, I feel your second response was somewhat rude if what you meant was I was simply using the wrong version of KB918899.

Anyway have a nice day :)

I have almost the same problem:

Win2k3server EE with 42 hotfixes to integrate.

WindowsServer2003-KB890046-x86-ita.exe and WindowsServer2003-KB918899-v3-x86-ITA.exe among them.

No errors while integration, smooth install, but Automatic Update pops up with these two files to download.

I tryed several times, even downloading them again before new integration, but unsuccesfully. Every time these two update are not recognized as integrated.

:(

Or mine :)

Or something removed then it thinks that it needs hotfix, happened before.

Anyway I'll check this, thx for reporting.

ok, I'll do a test for you: hotfix integration without remove anything.

Should result whether it doesn't integrate correctly or if it remove something that shouldn't.

I'll report.

ok, I have integrated hotfixes without remove anything. The problem is still alive, so it depends on integration, not on removing components.......

I tryed the new RC version, but the problem is still there: KB890046 and KB918899-v3 (ITA) are not integrate correctly and automatic update claims they are to be downloaded. All other 40 updates are fine.

Sorry for the bad news mate......... :(

Don't worry about bad news but it wasn't listed as fixed also...so patience, there was these other bugs which needed to be taken care of first.

This is in my todo.

Yep!

It's my misunderstanding because I saw this update:

update: Allowed asterisk for Computer Name

update: Direct integration for KB918899 non-English

update: Printer Support compatibility now protects Smart Cards component

I thought it could be related..... :blushing:
