mumuuu Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi everybody,I would like to know if someone could give me a tutorial or a exemple of a procedure to shut down like 30 server to moov them in an other Room.here is a list of servers i have:2 DC (master & slave)1 exchange Clusterlot of aplication servers (26 more or less)Thx by advance
nitroshift Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 If you have administrative rights on all of them then the command line shutdown -i -f will do the trick
allen2 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Of course you should shutdown them in the right order:Shutdown first the standalone servers (not in domain) if an application on another server doesn't need one of them. Then shutdown all domain members servers and the DC slave. Then shutdown the dc master. The power on the dc master and power on all other in whatever order you want.
chilifrei64 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 not sure how your OU structure is but this may work if you wanted to do it quick and painlesslyhttp://lazynetworkadmin.com/content/view/36/6/
chilifrei64 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 (edited) hopefully your batter backup would pick that up.. but then if configured properly should safely shut down your servers. Sounds like a long time consuming process.... Edited September 29, 2006 by chilifrei64
