cut Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 i've been trying to share a folder between 2 pc s on my wireless network for 2 days now, both run nlite windows xp home, when i made the disc i choose "dont show my computer on network" setting or somthing like that, now i think its making it difficult for me because i have little knowledge of networking. i remember it saying you can still network to these pcs if you know the ip, or you hve to do it the old/hard way or somthin. can anyone help? thanks
nitroshift Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Share the folder then map it on the other pc.
rendrag Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) go to start > run, and type cmd in the opening. a command window should pop up. If you know the computer name of the other machine, just typeping computer_nameIf it responds, you should still be able to share folders if you type them in directly to the address bar in Windows Explorer, i.e. \\home_pc\share_1if you don't know the computer name, at the command prompt, typenet viewa list of computers on your network should pop up. If nothing happens, then you probably nLite'd too much out for it to function properly on a typical home network. Why did you want to hide yourself anyway if you wanted to share files and folders?
