harez Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Mine is MCE2005. when i nlited it and added [sHELL]CustomDefaultThemeFile = "%WINDIR%\Resources\Themes\MyTheme.Theme"and install. the xp finally boots up with default energy blue theme.howerveri can manually select and apply the theme from drop down list.how come?
Ponch Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Hopefully you'll get an answer but I think Nuhi wrote a few days ago that MCE is not supported by nLite.
Ponch Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 You searched hard for that one, didn't you ? What is nLite ?
harez Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 that page says XP32/64 all lans?why not MCE
nuhi Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 This theme_doesn't_stick_in_MCE is not nlite problem.I tend to say that MCE isn't supported because when you remove some components it breaks Media Center and even MCE cd-key doesn't work. When I see what needs to be kept then it will be supported.
MagicAndre1981 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 (edited) When I see what needs to be kept then it will be supported.I mailed this to you through ICQ..NET 1.0 and MediaPlayer must be keept in MCE and so the WIndows-DVD created with nLite works.@harezcheck the HIVESFT for the following lines:HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes","CustomInstallTheme",0x00020000,"%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\xxxxx.theme"HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\LastTheme","ThemeFile",0x00020000,"%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\xxxxx.theme"HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\LastTheme","Wallpaper",0x00020000,"%SystemRoot%\web\wallpaper\xxxxx.jpg"If they are inside the [shell]CustomDefaultThemeFile will be ignored by Setup. nuhi Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 MagicAndre1981, thanks for the theme fix tip!But about components, I got the MCE for trial and it's not just those, maybe you remove little and so it is for you but I must find maximum allowable removals to finish that compatibility option.
