I have tried using the RCA to S-Video to connect it to my tv, but my computer won't detect the TV. what should i do?

i have a ATI Radeon x1800xt 512mb

AMD x4200 dual-core

1mb ram

sony SDM-HS95P 19"

2 x Raptors

i have a goodmans TV, analogue. it has a scart connector and a 3 pin (red, white and yellow) and S-Video sockets.

do you mean an svideo to rca adapter? thats what i do to connect to my tv. have you restarted your computer? i need to do that to make my vid card recognize the tv.

Yeah, that and a bit of fiddling around with the Catalyst...

nVIDIA's setup is way simplier than ATI's. And he's using an ATI card. I found Catalyst a bit more tricky than Forceware, but that's probably because I live in Europe and when plugging the TV, Catalyst must be set to the appropriate TV system (PAL or SECAM) as its defaults are NTSC.

The card has S-video out and the TV has S-video in so why use RCA to S-video adaptor?

The manual says turn on TV, then turn on computer.

With TV out, the max. resolution is 1024x768.

lol, ur right, he said his tv does have svideo :lol:

and everything else you said is exactly right. the reason i dont clone my display is b/c my monitor is 1280x1024 and as you said, the tv is 1024x768, therefore alot is cut off...
