there are a number of possibilities that could have been in effect. your internet could have been chocked or Kaspersky's servers were slow due to some server-side issue. does it still happen?

Busy traffic/busy servers happens all the time and is beyond your control anyway. In my experience, KAV updates have always been slow (minutes) to d/l although you didn't say how long is "very long".

I have Kaspersky and never have any problems updating in seconds (longest time is 1 minute).

sometimes i met this problem, the update was very slow, over ten minutes.

After tested it for few days, its quite nice to use this AV. Also its much more better than Norton AV. Good resource mgmnt and perform a very fast scan. Updates a little slow.. but its took around max 10mins.

Kaspersky the best!
