Tarun Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 As of this time, there is no SP2 for the x64 series of Windows XP*.*To my knowledge.
LLXX Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) As of this time, there is no SP2 for the x64 series of Windows XP*.*To my knowledge.I doubt he's using 64-bit XP, as there is a separate Forum for that (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=104) Edited August 17, 2006 by LLXX
markajm Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 this page http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000474.htm lists a bunch of reasons for your error.it sounds more hardware related than software. did you just update the bios? sometimes that can cause more problems than it solves. try an older version
painbird Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 the odd thing is my pc works fine with sp1. no hang ups no problems. why would sp2 change all that?and i am not using x64 XP.
T D Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) Try running Xpress Recovery (if u have the disc). Edited August 17, 2006 by T D
Takeshi Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) Does it boot in Safe Mode?something to do with EVP?Your query is really "failure to boot after installing SP2", rather than "cannot install SP2". Edited August 17, 2006 by Takeshi
