Shindo_Hikaru Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 This belongs in Hardware Hangout, can you describe this intermittent problem, and what is the brand, version, and firmware in this router.
zahir270 Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 I had seen this problem occured on Cisco router(maybe 2500 series), the line sometimes is going up and down, so it effect entire networks and need 2 change another router...........b'cause before this my senior engineer told me this problem could probably caused by the IC..
chilifrei64 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 from the console of your cisco router you would be able to run "show interface" from privledged mode and see the stats on the interface. Check to see if you are getting buffer errors, interface resets, jumbo frames, CRC errors, collisions.. stuff like that.. that will tell you where the problem resides.
LLXX Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Make sure it's not overheating and recieving sufficient ventilation.Overheated electronics do strange things...
