AM2, AMD's own true release dump. AM2 in a since is an increaes in one extra pin vs 939, but it does offer something truely great, official support for DDR2. If you were to compare some systems exactly the same, there is little improvement. It could be a way for AMD to force users to upgrade and potentially rob of money. Who knows. What is the communitys thoughs? You be the deciding factor.

- It give more performance with onboard Video :),

- Lower prices,

- Few extra instruction sets that come with the higher Atlon64 (X2) models: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/Virtual...3~98372,00.html

- Lower power, 35Watt, on some models,

-Works for Sempron64 and Higher so easier upgrades...
