The Lone Programmer Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I am fairly new to nLite, and I did a little bit of asking around. I did not ask around here, but to people I know who are good with computers.I do not know which hotfixes, updates, or drivers I have already integrated into my windows disc. I am affraid to download all the windows updates and just re integrate them, because i am un-certain whether or not I will run into problems along the way.My question is:> If I already have the hotfixes, drivers, and updates integrated into my disc, is it bad if I try to integrate them again?> If I tried to re integrate them, would it skip over the file, replace the old file with the new, or create a new slot in a library for it and screw up my windows for trying to install it twice? If I am able to re integrate stuff I would just like to download all the windows xp updates and integrate them in without worrying about corrupting my windows or something.Any help is appreciated. The Lone Programmer
T D Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Yes it is bad trying to integrate them again. It doesn't make a difference if u've already integrated them though, does it?For cumulative updates, ie a hotfix pack w/more than one update, generally, u can integrate them, but i'd use the svcpack.inf method.http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/24/
T D Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 UpdatePacks no good on an install w/already at least one hotfix in it
