Well I've always tried to stay away from on board graphics. That is why I wanted the AGP. And until this Asus I'm replacing I've always used 2nd hand and super old parts to stay on the cheap.

You really think this is going to be faster then my AMD64 3800 with 3gb and 6800nVidia 256 PCI-e? And if it is I have no problem switch computers with her. They're both in identical cases, it's not like she'd notice.

But for real, that 3400 CPU will not be much slower then you have now, throw in a 7600GT for 165 bucks and it will outperform your PC. 3GB helps, I know.

The 6100 will run most games of 2004/2005 smooth enough on 800*600, on 1024*768 or higher the memory is the bottle neck. The core of the integrated video now runs at 425MHz, but you can easily OC it to 530/550MHz then the speed in 3D mark will be the same as a 6200TC.

We have 21" CRTs so we do everything in 1280x1024.

I'm going to pass on the sempron. When Xmas bonus comes I'll drop my nvidia from the good rig into this one and then toss two of those 7800s or something into the gamer.

I hope that will be in 2D, the 6800 can´t even pull a smooth framerate on 1280x1024 when it comes to the 2005/2006 games. The 7900GT, good choice b/c I don´t see any thing happen soon with DX 10 carts.

Desktop is 1280x1024, gaming is done in 1024x768.

Got the ASRock board and AMD today. Everything is working so far. Updating WoW to see if I get any problems there.
