boooggy Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 is there any way to make last vista autologin?searched everywhere ....no answer......
fizban2 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 i do not believe there is a way to autologon, unless it was a registry key.. foud nothing in vista proper about it, wouldn't be suprised if itwasn't available anymore, a security issue it would be
MagicAndre1981 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 my VIsta (Build 5472.5) logs me automatically on, if I leave the Adminstrator-Account disabled.
vstatapguy Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Just because Vista has a virtual registry does not mean it does not have a registry at all. Here's the key you need to mess with if you want to do it up geek style.Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon-Autoadminlogin (1)-DefaultUserName (your user)-DefaultPassword (your password)-DefaultDomainName (if you have a domain)You'll need to create the DefaultPassword string and value.Cheers!Damian

Anusha Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 It's the same registry hack in XP (same as what vstatapguy said)
McoreD Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Setting it using control userpasswords2 doesn't seem to have an effect either.
Mr_Eleganza Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) On the second tab in the box for control userpasswords2 is there a tick in the secure logon box?If there is, you'll need to enable logon without CTRL+ALT+DEL in your local security policy. That worked for me...Edited for spelling ^_^ Edited December 7, 2006 by Mr_Eleganza
Spooky Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) I posted the way to do auto login for Vista in the Vista tweaks and tips section a few weeks ago. I know it works because I use it myself.http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&...st&p=587471 Edited December 7, 2006 by Spooky
sangwooksohn Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Run%SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe netplwiz.dll,UsersRunDll
XPFTP Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 hello .. i know i seen date on post is a bit old but might help for new users of vista if they feel they need one acount auto log in ... You can configure Windows Vista to automate the logon process if your computer is not part of a domain.1.goto start then in the little Start Search window put this in control userpasswords22. Clear the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box. 3. Click Apply. 4. Enter the user name and password you wish to automatically log on with, and then click OK. 5. Click OK again and you're all done. this was for XP but i tried it and works great n no reg hack needed to do it ... good luck

Userpasswords2 does not exist in Home Premium.
bmhome1 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Autologgon.exe in freeware SysInternalsSuite works for Home Premium without user intervention at all.
