I have one stupid question wanted to ask

I have rumours from my friends that thumb drive can't be put together with cellphone,they said that the cellphone wave may cause the thumb drive to function improperly,is that true?

If it is true, can anyone tell me what how the wave effect the thumbdrive?

I have a Cellphone, Never Affected mine.

Floppies doesn't like cellphones. Afaik there's no problem with thumb drives.

Btw I am wondering what is the effect of WiFi over old tapes recorded from TV (the things we used before DVDs : my brother thought it would be good to put our wifi router near our tapes ["near" means as near as the two | just there : | | ]

Phones won't (or shouldn't!) bother thumb drives. They would affect older media as the electromagnetic waves would distort the magnetic data patterns.

I don't think wifi would bother "analogue media" as the part of the spectrum they use doesn't interfere magnetically.

Solid-state memory not affected by radio-frequency radiation.

In fact, cellphones contain Flash RAM of the same type used in thumb drives (of smaller capacity, probably several Mb)

this question came up when a thumb drive seller wanted to change my friends thumb drive which is under warranty n it spoil.

Then i am juz curious wanted to know

Conclusion: Cell Phone won't effect thumb drive
