Providers in the Netherland against RIAA

ISP'S AGAINST RIAA : WE ARE NOT THE POLICE !!!

A letter send with the agreement of a lot of providers in the Nedtherlands and some other countries (more than 100 providers signed) send to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has to prevent that the Internet Providers are becoming the police of the Internet !

RIAA is doing searches to fileswappers and sends request to get information about the user of the IP adresses that they want to follow to court. The Internet Providers are affraid that this is the first step to keep them responsible for the actions of their customers. To prevent that, the Internet Providers want to sit around the table with the RIAA, and discuss it.

I might be reading this wrong. Is the RIAA actually going after people outside of America? This is the Recording Industry Association of America.

Let me say this again: Recording Industry Association of America.

Recording Industry Association of America.

How can they possibly get away with this?

they can sapina(how eva u spell it) if they upload to US based host etc

They could never get everyone its impossable to do and they no it they just saying that they will to scare people from downloading music..

RIAA are N00B's :)

RIAA is only targeting those (in and out of US) who constantly download music in large quantities from the US.

So say i had downloaded 200+ songs ould they come after me.

:)

if they wanted too yeh.. there targeting certain ISPs obviously

Will even if they got my IP it would be wrong anyway as i use proxy because i have a network so can't get me.

:)

Depends what type of proxy you are using.

Some still show the IP visible to servers.
