I am trying to find out two things:

First, I am wondering about the Desktop Cleanup Wizard. It is hidden if the Windows Activation and Sysprep compatibility option is checked. Why is it required by one or both of these?

Second, more generally, I am interested in finding a list of the options that are hidden by each Compatibility entry. This is currently a hunt and peck situation to find out which components are required by each Compatibility entry.

I actually came up with a list of these myself, by creating the folder from the disc and removing everything except what was hidden by the Compatibility options. I will post it here soon, especially if there is interest in it (which I am sure there is, unless it has already been done!)

Anyway, for Windows Activation and Sysprep, Desktop Cleanup Wizard and Out of Box Experience are both required. Which way does this dependency go? I am assuming it means that Windows Activation and Sysprep require Desktop Cleanup Wizard and Out of Box Experience. Is this true, if so why? If not, then I should be able to safely remove them, correct?

When you reseal a machine with sysprep it will try to run desktop cleanup and thus poping up a missing dll if removed.

OOBE...well it is basic for activation you pirate

So, if you have a corporate version of Windows, there is no problem with removing OOBE, right? Otherwise, you can't activate windows, and in however many days, you will have to reinstall? Or, instead, does it just ditch the activation process completely?

Of course it asks and you can't click on the tray icon but it will lock you.

I would never put a crack in it.

Btw, I just ran into a problem when I removed OOBE. Windows would only go into safe mode after a clean install. Well, it was either that or it was removing Secondary Logon that did it. I am retrying it with OOBE back in.

Btw, could removing OOBE from a corporate version of windows also affect the Genuine Advantage Tool?

Edit: Well, it wasn't OOBE, so it must be Secondary Logon. Either that, or something went wrong when integrating the new ryanVM 2.1.0 pack.

Do Printers need UPnP ?

I mean : it's a nonsense imho. UPnP has no interest for such hardware and I doubt there are many, if any, UPnP printers.

I won't explain any more, search the forum.

To find out which compatibility is what just unselect all, check compatibility, select all components, uncheck compatibility, invert selection.

Searching "Universal Plug Play Printer" returned no result.

And I simply have difficulties thinking UPnP would be needed for TCP/IP Printers (something I found searching only on UPnP).

UPnP only opens and forwards ports. It only does the configuration people should do on their own.

But you are more experienced than I am so I have nothing to say.
