August 11, 200323 yr Hello,I was just wondering who is really evaluating Windows 2003 Server at work, as a server operating system. Thanks for feedback and comments. ^_^
August 16, 200323 yr Hey there - I have it setup here at home.. but Its just for fun.. I aquired this copy tho I do plan on making the purchase so no hounding me please - My friends and I have been trying to put these to the tests and its a rather stable server with the few holes here and there but as for the features included smack in your face and not how you had to hunt for them in 2000.. im very much so pleased I've got it currenbtly installed as a workstation aswell - non gaming purposes by the way .. and for office apps it runs top tnothc haven't had a problem.. my next challenge will be several people remote desktop connecting at the same time and all put different ressources from the network and see how it handles
August 17, 200323 yr im evaluating it as a server at work for a main web/application server, actually installed it when it was RC1 and running it since then,i also evaluating win2k3 as a worstation on one of the mashines, final version this time...
August 17, 200323 yr Author At work it runs pretty smoothly as well as at home. I'll wait to get me a licence before transferring my data to it, i've like at least 10 gigs of work who is way too much important, even saved on Cds...
August 17, 200323 yr I received RC2 from Microsoft when they were testing it, got a copy from Winbeta and installed it as a workstation...Got screwed up, so I had to reinstall (3 times)...
August 17, 200323 yr Author Heh! that must have sucked. When i installed it on my network, on my own server (primary domain controller) i was little bit nervous i've to say but it went all fine and runs perfectly.
