[Question] - seeking reg tweaks to remove context menu entries

Featured Replies

icons.jpg

When I right click in an explorer window I get all of that. I would like to remove "view," "arrange icons by" and "paste shortcut" from this list. I would also like to remove "arange icons by" and "paste shortcut" from the context menu of my desktop.

Thanks in advance to whoever has these keys!

I know you can change or delete many context menu entries, esp if they're from 3rd party software as they reside in the registry, but doubt you can change the ones you mention as they may be hard coded into Windows dll's or explorer.exe.

re context menus: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/context.htm

Use a resource editor on the file in question (I think it's explorer.exe)

But a res editor most likely corruptes all exes except SFXs for some reason.

You used a bad one.

Borland Resource Workshop and ResourceHacker are two good ones.

I always use Resource Hacker. :( Not so good results w/me :(

Those entries are in Shell32.dll
