Regedit problem

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I'm running Vista Beta 2 Build 5384 and have had no problems so far. However when I type regedit into the run box I get a command prompt box opening for about half a second and then nothing. Its frustrating that I cannot do any registry editing.

Apologies if I have missed something obvious.

Brian

Open an elevated command prompt and run it from there - it should dump the error message out.

Alternatively, does regedt32.exe work?

can you navigate to the regedit.exe and run it from there(%systemdrive%\windows\system32)?

Actually regedit.exe lives in %systemroot% - regedt32.exe is the one that lives in %systemroot%\system32.
