HyperHacker Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Have you tried resetting your connection? Power off/unplug all modems and routers for a minute, then reboot.(600 posts!)
tal ormanda Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 I doubt its that. 1 minute before that update I installed 3 other things then this came and it didnt work.
IcemanND Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 try downloading dial-a-fix from djlizard.net and use the WU/WUAU to fix windows update. It will reregister all the associated dll's flush the update software cache and stop and restart the appropriate services.

Grunth0s Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I have just had a quick scan round the Microsoft site, and this patch appears to do something with daylight savings times on Australian PC's.I suppose it is possible that it fails to install because you don't have the Australian regional settings installed?• Update for Windows (KB913670)Locale: AllDeployment: Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Automatic Updates, WSUS, and SUS 1.0Classification: High priority update, nonsecurityTarget platforms: Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2000Approximate file sizes:• Windows 2000 update: ~52 KB • Windows XP update: ~55 KB • Windows Server 2003 update: ~55 KB • Windows Server 2003 IA-64 update: ~64 KB • Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x64 update: ~56 KB Description: Australia changed the regularly scheduled end of daylight saving time (DST) in five states because of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Microsoft issued an update to adjust those settings. This update will return your computer to the correct DST settings for those time zones by removing the previous update. After you run this item, you may have to restart your computer.
tal ormanda Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Is there a folder where the updates get installed to I can just delete it and have it install again and see if that works?
BeenThereB4 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Download the "$NtUninstallKB912475$.zip" below and extract the folder to C:\Windowshttp://www.digitalforrest.com/images/kille...12475$.zipNow download the KB913670 update and it will install correctly this time.
tal ormanda Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 ok, lets give that a go.Thanks man, that worked, what did that file do?
BeenThereB4 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 (edited) ok, lets give that a go.Thanks man, that worked, what did that file do?The hotfix that you were failing on just tries to run the uninstaller for KB912475. That file is the uninstaller for KB912475. Lots of hotfix cleanup programs remove the uninstallers -- normally not a problem --- but leave it to Microsoft to create a problem anyway.
