bledd Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) i've read that the ntoskrnl (sp?) from 2003 imrpoves boot speedjust wondering what other files you guys may use Edited June 25, 2006 by bledd
Takeshi Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 replacing XP's ntoskrnl (NT OS kernel file) with 2003's? Perhaps you mean ntldr.
T D Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I tried that in vmware but no luck, it won't boot. It says unable to boot, "please reinstall a copy of the following files<windows>\ntoskrnl.exe<windows>\ntkrnlmp.exe<windows>\ntkrnlpa.exe"That's odd cos I only replaced ntoskrnl.exe but maybe it sees the kernel files as one whole category.
