Biohead Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) For all you official Beta testers, build 5456 is now available on Connect. I believe this is the first in the Release Candidate branch of builds.Downloading now, I'll get some screenshots up when installed.EDIT: it seems that it is still beta 2, but with alot of bugs squashed. ddebacker Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) I encourage everyone of you who has access to that build to install it.It's been released last saturday and performance/driver support has been greatly improved. Please note that this is in no case a release candidate. This is 'merely' a technical refresh. RC1 should be released during summer. Edited June 26, 2006 by ddebacker
-I- Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 euh didn't MS intent to (instead of building new iso's) release a monthly update ????
fizban2 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 the Monthly CTP was suppose to happen but was pushed to the wayside in favor of giving out build that were of better quality, every one remeber how bad some of the old CTP builds were, they are still releaseing builds on a regular schedule so it still works well
Biohead Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 This is definately a much more stable build. And Vista Media Center works like lightening!
maxamoto Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 (edited) Hello all,I'm confused. This isn't listed on connect. Is it for a select few only? If not, can someone post a link to the download, since I am too fried to find it? Thanks Edited June 29, 2006 by maxamoto
fizban2 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 It is only available to TAP partners and Users who are part of the vista Beta, everyone who got the public beta will have to wait for RC1 to get a new version of vista.
mehargags Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Can someone pls CONFIRM if the x64 versions on Vista also have the Media Centre in them ? I'm using the 32bit public beta 5384 & the media centre is really good.Just curious- I guess x64 sh'd have exactly the same software set as well. Also can u point out any major software set diff betw x64 & x86 builds? besides the architectural ones.Thx & Regards
fizban2 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 the only difference between x86 and 64 bit is the architecture, program wise they are the same
