TechZ Posted October 13, 2003 Posted October 13, 2003 can any one download the current version of LH and just try it or do u need to sign up w/MS or something
BordNTird Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 Based on the specs in my sig, would Longhorn run OK on my computer? What about that Tier 2 thing with the 3D icons, would I need a new video card for that? My current card users DirecX 9 just fine and I read that DirectX 9 is required for the 3D icons.
tokyodrifter Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 When will MS integrate the Aero GUI into LH? That's the part that worries me the most when it comes to system requirements. Right now, LH is just like WinXP and it's really nothing...LH runs on my Compaq like WinXP Pro. Although when the Aero GUI comes in I'm sure it'll kill off the older, slower PCs.

likuidkewl Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 I decided to get a little crazy and install LH on a HP Pavilion ZE1210 W/ AthlonXP 1400+/512mb/and onboard video. It actually works ok, after I trimmed the fat. That memory leak is a killer though... Even with the leakfix 0.6. Anyhow just wanted to let you all it is running on my little notebook. --Likuidkewl
