Kiki Burgh Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 this is from FDV ... To shut Windows File Protection off:Use a modified SFC.DLL in Windows 2000Use a modified SFC_OS.DLL in Windows XP and Windows 2003No need for a modified SFCFILES.DLLTo disable Windows File Protection causing it to check an empty list:Use a modified SFCFILES.DLL in ANY version of WindowsNo need for a modified SFC*.DLLFor complete overkill, so that Windows File Protection is shut off AND has an empty list which it doesn't even check:Use a modified SFC.DLL in Windows 2000Use a modified SFC_OS.DLL in Windows XP and Windows 2003AND Use a modified SFCFILES.DLL in ANY version of Windowshope this helps ...
Tomcat76 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I think it depends on the files you want to remove. My guess is that you'll *have* to do it when stripping out "protected" files. But don't take my word for it.

Kiki Burgh Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 your mileage will vary ... & just like what TC saidI think it depends on the files you want to remove.pls read this 1st: http://www.vorck.com/hfexpert.html#hfcleanup ... or you may use an alternative way of removing components

Its MS software or drivers the system is asking to install. If I tell it to install anyway everything works and no complaints untill the next time. tommyp Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) Those reducers are crafted by me with lots of inputs from Oleg from earlier this year... and yes they are a bit buggy. Have you read the readme in that zip file? They do work great on a 2k install. Edited June 26, 2006 by tommyp
mystek Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) Yes, I read the readme. I was just asking if anyone else using those reducers has experienced the issue and found a solution. I plan to keep testing on XP and eventually 2003. I love the program and would like to contribute, since I am new to this it might take a bit, but eventually .... Edited June 26, 2006 by mystek

Anyone seen this before?hi mystek!already posted the same concern before ...here's TC's reply:this is nothing much ... but may be worth a look ..."Founding" Yeah... That's why CounterStrike isn't made for DOS... it doesn't post any prob though as far as i know ... Edited June 26, 2006 by Kiki Burgh
Tomcat76 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 My reference to Counterstrike was about the fact you see two lines on one (mixed). This is a bug in DOS. (Display problems in DOS => no Counterstrike for DOS)."File not found" can be an error but it isn't necessarily.
Kiki Burgh Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) yes sir ...merely trying to insert some comic relief this issue is trivial after all ... "File not found" can be an error but it isn't necessarily. Edited June 26, 2006 by Kiki Burgh
