waster656 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Hi! I am in the process of rolling out all the necessary hotfixes in our organisation. The trouble is my company will not pay for a third party software solution or invest the manpower in researching WSUS.So I need to produce a compact disc with all hotfixes post Windows XP SP2. All the client PC's will be at differing hotfix levels. I have read the MS documentation on this. Is it just a case of downloading all hotfixes to a network share or CD and create a batch file to perform an unattended, silent install of each hotfix one by one? What happens when a hotfix has already been installed, will the batch file continue installing the remainder?Any help would be appreciated.ThanksWaster656
ner Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) Try this link, has been covered off many times...http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=74742you could use my cmd bath file and use the suggested registry checks to see if the hotfix is already installed. Edited June 20, 2006 by ner
Sonic Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I have a shared folder with all hotfixes with a batch .. I always install on fresh system and old system too (sp2 minimum) and no problems. If you re-install a patch, there is no problem.
waster656 Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Thanks guys looks like you have confirmed my thoughts and thanks for the link to the batch file ner.
