how can I install unrealy tournament onto my fedora 5 laptop? It doesn't work when I try running the script.

sudo sh installationscript.sh

works for me on ubuntu.

installationscript.sh should be on the root dir of your ut2k4 dvd

actually I am trying to use the 03 edition of unreal, what does sudo do?

sudo is

swich user DO...

basically if you don't specify a user after sudo is defaults to root... from there you'll most likely need a password... then it runs the SU command as root

i use sudo to obtain administrative priviledges. on your ut2k3 dvd there must be a script to install it on linux, just run that script being root.

you'll be prompted where to install blah blah blah, then just typing a command the game window will appear

note: not sure if fedora uses sudo... never tried it...

Use su- instead.

why not use a loki installer?

http://liflg.org/ has some great installers for native linux games

ut dvds already include a native installer

no need to use loki's except if those are not working

Mine never got installed via the native installer... It never worked because it was a dvd, it kept on asking for CD #2 no matter what, And thats the special edition too... so yeah
