Hey guys, i'm buying this video card for my computer and you can watch tv on it but it dosent tell me how i can i want to use a remote with it.

Really not much point in buying an old 6xxx series card when a 7600GT will cost the same and easily outperforms them, In benchmarks theyve shown even the 7300GT will match a 6800 card. nVidea 6 series of cards are very outdated now. If you can find a good cheap 7600GT card then go with that but otherwise i guess the 6800 will do, just dont expect to play all the new games on a v good res with AA+AF cause it just wont cut it now.

Just a Note, The x1300 cards are absolutely pants, if you want to play any newer games then that card is not a good choice, even if it does have a built in tuner. Youd be better off buying a seperate tv tuner card.

Either would be fine. But personally i would pick the XFX as its not been overclocked or anything ( allowing you todo it yourself ). Also some ppl seem to have problems with the Evga 7600GT.

if ur going nvidia, then get the evga 7600gt, like scuba steve said. why not buy from newegg? i would hurry up and get that 2nd one as it has a special weekend sale

The best thing to do for watching TV is to buy the Hauppauge PVR 250 or the PVR-150. Here is a list from Newegg.

If you are wanting to watch TV then very few Home Theatre packages well work with a "SOFTWARE ENCODER" style tuner. The Hauppauge cards are Hardware and will work with everything out there for watching TV. This particular tuner you will find on every HTPC board as just about the defacto standard. I know what you are after as I have the NX6600GT which has VIVO "Video-In/Video-Out. I am still working on getting it to work with a software package such as MCE, Media Portal, Meedio and the rest of them. So that I can encode 5.1 Dolby movies on HBO, Showtime and the rest.

Just had a look, I didnt see on the newegg site that it had written underneath in small $30 rebate, i just looked at the big price

The evga should be an excellent card, Alot of overclockers will swear by evga made cards. As ripken says theyre both covered by warrantys anyway.

Then EVGA it is unless you can find a better card under $200

You wont find a Sub $200 card better than the 7600GT, You could overclock it too, probably get around 600Mhz core/1600-1700 memory. You'll be very happy with your investment.
