[question] use xp pro corprate serial on xp home

i have a volume lisenceing serial for xp pro, is there any way to use it with xp home, i read somewhere about changing the setupp.ini to change your version from oem to whatever u want (retail or vlk)

My understanding may be flawed, but it's always been my understanding that each registration key is locked in to a particular version of XP. So a key for the corporate version will only work on that version and NO other.

Doing otherwise would be illegal under the strictest regulations governing the licensing of a Windows OS.

Discussing how to do anything illegal would not be permitted under forum rules.

Yeah, if you have a key for xp pro, why the heck would you want xp home? lol

I wouldn't say it's impossible, with the right knowledge about how windows works you could do it.

I can't post how to do it because of forum rules, but i have looked up how to do pretty much this same exact thing so i know it is possible.
