dosworld Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 i have a volume lisenceing serial for xp pro, is there any way to use it with xp home, i read somewhere about changing the setupp.ini to change your version from oem to whatever u want (retail or vlk)thanks dosworld
Andromeda43 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 My understanding may be flawed, but it's always been my understanding that each registration key is locked in to a particular version of XP. So a key for the corporate version will only work on that version and NO other.Doing otherwise would be illegal under the strictest regulations governing the licensing of a Windows OS.Discussing how to do anything illegal would not be permitted under forum rules.Live long and Prosper, B)
janus zeal Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 There is no way to make a serial from one version of windows work with another one.
Zxian Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 If you've got the licence for XP Pro - why not use XP Pro? Something doesn't seem quite right here...

Synapse Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 I wouldn't say it's impossible, with the right knowledge about how windows works you could do it.I can't post how to do it because of forum rules, but i have looked up how to do pretty much this same exact thing so i know it is possible.
