Dell Cerc 1.5 / 6 CH SATA RAID contoller

Ok I have got my hands on a DEll Cerc 1.5/6CH controller and have downloaded the managment software for windows for it but when i run the software it says no contoller connected, I have also tried to use the dell software and I get the same error ?

Does anyone know whats Wrong?

As when the PC is booting up I can see the CARD in Dos I can also see the card listed in Windows Device manager

I can get in The DOs settings for the card but would love to be able to monitor the disk using a Windows Managemt screen

Got it!

If you goto HP's website they have a s610sa as well, download their drivers, as well as their management software (really adaptec's with an HP logo). Then you have to Force install the drivers, windows will not just "detect" them from the files you downloaded. When you are installing make sure you choose the driver inf file aacmgt.inf, that one has the real driver for the card, and a dummy driver for the management software. After that make sure to reboot.

So now I've got a dell branded SATA controller made by adaptec managed by HP tools and an HP driver. :-)

dell is horrible at drivers, that why. plus the fact that dell just put their name on the card.

I agree: i have the same problem, the same card only... no link. Does anyone have the link to HP with that driver?
