run it @ 220 V :D

silly! that makes the whole machine run twice as fast, not just the HD :w00t:

I was lied to!

Isn't the best way to speedup a computer to use the newest version of Windows ?

Now I understand why computers in Europe are faster, they run natively at 220V!

And if you want to speed-up your HD, take a look at Acoustic and Power Management. ;)

You can set your hard drive to be faster but you will get more noise, more heat, more power consumption. In most cases drives are configured not to be too noisy. Thus they are not as fast as they could. You can change this in Windows with some utils or directly in your BIOS.
