Thumbnail software

Hello

I'm looking for a thumbnail software that could:

- display thumbnails up to 512x512 pix (400x400 is absolute minimum)

- display folders as thumbnails of their contents (like for example ACDSee photo manager does)

- be fairly optimised and stable when dealing with lots of files

(- preferably save thumbnail info to a central location instead of filling your HDD with small thumbs files)

That's all. Nothing else needed.

with XnView you can select the thumbnail size. And I think it can cache its own thumbnails.

there is also Picasa which might work.

Picasa2 is what I'd recommend, although it installs a MediaDetector Service that monitors any new images of any kind on your system.

not sure this is what you want but you could use irfan view thumbnails which allows you to few thumbnails up to 800x800

You can always change your windows thumbnail size by add a dword RegistryKey key to the key \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

name it ThumbnailSize and give it value between 32 and 96.

BTW in XnView you can customize the height/width of thumbnails from 32x32 to 2048x2048
