Hello everybody

i took 2 folders from one of my friend and when i reboot the system then i tried to access these folders they were renamed to a strange ascii symbols which winxp can't handle it and delete it is impossible so what program should i use to solve this problem??

1) chkdsk from recovery console

2) Checkdisk from Tools of Properties of the concerned drive

3) The old Scandisk tool under MS-DOS but your drive must be FAT32.

Filesystem corruption can also be caused by failing hardware.

sounds like corrupt file system. if not, you should make sure that you have write access to the files (if they are on ntfs media)

Try:

Deleting all the files that's in the folder(s), then you better have an system restore point that's before the folders has been created/pasted into your Window's system, because System Restore could erase/restore bugged folder trees.
