hougtimo Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Hi,Tonight I am re-doing my UA XP CD. My source is XP with SP2 (came from MS with SP2 already in). Should I download all the updates to date and slipstream them? Sercurity is NO concern I am interesed purely in speed and performance and also the size of my iso. Will is be slower if i integrate all the hotfixes, or if I don't?ThanksHougTimo
DjWhizZ Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I think the install will take longer, but i don't think your pc is gonna run slower..
RyanVM Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 If you're using an English XP, my Update Pack is the easiest way to integrate the hotfixes with a negligible performance penalty.
hougtimo Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 I do not want to use anymore 3rd party stuff, I will be directly integrating them with nLite. I suppose I could do two installs, one with and one without updates and try them out in a VM?

If you don't want 3rd party solutions you should just download every hotfix and integrate them according to Microsoft's supported methods.

I do not want to use anymore because I have heard of great problems with compatibility between two third party apps. So please do not get on your high horse, read my posts properly first. Thank you.
RyanVM Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Of course, to see what (if any) problems there are with using my pack, it would only take one VM install to find out Seriously, there's zero risk whatsoever. I can understand being cautious, but do so within reason .
