Going 64-Bit!

more ram? if urs is then just disable all of the pointless services

Afaik you can't prevent x64 from using more memory.

It is not because of windows, it is because of 64 bits.

Just think that every variable has an address and that it has to be stored somewhere. On 32 bits machine, this address is 32-bit long. On 64-bit machines it is 64-bit long.

I hope I did not wrote something wrong. :D

If you want to check this, make windows use PAE. This should have the SAME effect on memory usage than running x64.

my computer (A8N-SLI, AMD64 X2 3800) wouldnt work with the 32 bit edition of XP pro it would get all screwey on me for some odd reason. x64 seems to work fine, it has the occasional windows quirks but thats about it
