2 Question about $OEM$

1) Do $OEM$ distribution system overwrite protected files, like shell32.dll?

2) when do it start to copy? before the hotfixes or at the end of installation?

yes it will overwrite protected files, i think sfc may be mad about it tho.

the files are copied at textmode setup, before windows even starts for the first time

so i can use this method to replace original shell32.dll with a customized one? won't windows replace the original?

You must disable Windows File Protection (WFP) too otherwise the file will be replaced ...
