Woomera Posted April 12, 2006 Share Posted April 12, 2006 ok why ehwn i browse my 6600 pcx graphic settings in graphic card information i see the bus: x8 ?my friend have the same graphic card just from another manufactor but he sees the bus: x16. Incognito5000 Posted April 12, 2006 Share Posted April 12, 2006 You're motherboard appears to have a PCI-E selection style card to choose between splitting the bus between 8x and 16x. If am correct...switching the card around should re-route the remaining 8x pipes towards the single slot, giving you 16x total.Of course the performance difference is non-existent since a Geforce 6600 just doesn't use up that much bandwith, but still nice for gloating with 16x over 8x . ripken204 Posted April 13, 2006 Share Posted April 13, 2006 for my dfi ultra-d board, i have my card in the 2nd pci-e slot. but at default the 2nd slot will run in 2x and i needed to move the jumpers to sli mode to get 8x. but dont worry, your card wont even use more than 8x, its more like 6x.
