03GrandAmGT Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Hi all Just wondering if anyone has had the great experience in installing any of the games I have listed below on XP Pro SP2. My son is 7 years old and has a BUNCH of childrens games. His machine has been running 98SE, and I want to get rid of it and put XP on it. His machine is the only one also in the house not hooked up to the internet and this is another reason for going to XP. He will be needing internet access in order to login to his school account for misc. activities during summer. I know I could set it up as a dual boot but I really would rather not. I know 2000 pro won't run his games as I tried that 3 years ago, and NOTHING of his games would run. The other reason he will need XP is I will be setting up his media section for children's movies and he will need network connectivity to our file server. I will also be using Game Drive with this for the games.1. Thomas The Tank Engine (Full Series)2. Scooby Doo (Full Series)3. Sponge Bob Square Pants4. Reader Rabbit (Full Series)There's several more but hopefully if this will get me going I should be able to get the rest going. ThanksJohn
jago_lfn Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 No idea but you can try looking here http://ntcompatible.com/compatibility.htmlThey have a game database that might be of some help.
spazmire11 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 also if the games do not work you can run them in compatibilty mode, just right click the shortcut and select the os you want to run it as in the compatibilty tab.
Kelsenellenelvian Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I can tell you the Scooby Doo games work fine. Also I know at least one of the Reader Rabbit games work fine so the rest should work fine too.
nitroshift Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 As spamzire11 syas, running the games in compatibility mode sometimes (most of the times) pulls the trick.
