pauluk83, Did you get it fixed?

hello, sorry for the long delay, yes i did get that one fixed. now i have another questain, i am trying to build a preactivated cd for my mate, he is using a hp laptop that has a oem insall of xp home the crc of the oembios.bin is 57DBAB59 would i beable to install xp pro with this method * he has a legit xp pro cd and key*

You're getting too close to the fine line between legitimate and pirated software. Personally I'd do it on my own PCs but not someone else's PC.

well my mate wants to learn how to do this for himself, he is knowlagable with pc, he runs his own company, so he would have major benifits of doing it this way as he reinstalls alot. any help would be useful

This is from a Panasonic ToughBook laptop. It reads as Matsus***a which I believe is the parent company. And it looks as though the filthy mouth filter thinks that I'm trying to swear in the manufacturer's name.

@Bezalel: The ASUS OEMBIOS Files on your share are corrupt. At least oemscan says that. I already double-checked my checksums with yours and they match, so there must be something wrong with the files on your share.

Does anyone have correct ASUS_FLASH files?

The files I have have a valid MS signature Pleas check your SHA1 checksums for verification.

Sorry, my fault. My files match the checksums. I tried it with an ASUS board and because oemscan matched the OEMBIOS files for ASUS, I thought it should work. It is a single board, not an ASUS PC. Any way to modify my DMI table so that Windows recognizes the OEMBIOS files?

Use this entry in the oemscan.ini file for the ASUS_FLASH (B20C65BF) OEMBIOS file set to avoid false positives. In your oemscan.ini file did you search for asus or asus_flash?

[ASUS_FLASH]

PATH=".\Asus"

RANGE="0xFC000:3FFF"

Oembios files method is ONLY for OEM based computers.

A motherboard isn't sell with Microsoft Windows, isn't it ?!

Do not try to h*ck the dmi, discussion about that will be banned.

Read the threads. They are long but they explain everything.

i have read it, but i dont understand how to chose what set to use, crc of the oembios.bin is 57DBAB59 so how do i know what set we would have to use, or would i just use the hp set?

Posted

oembios.cat is used to identify the set NOT oembios.bin. Choose the file set that corresponds to the manufacture of your computer. HP is tricky, it could be either 06D652A4 or CD4E1902. If you want to know for sure download oemscan and run it in a command prompt. If it says that it matched “HP PAVILION” get 06D652A4 and if it says it matched Compaq or Hewlett get CD4E1902.

right i am still slightly confused..

i ran the vbs file and it said

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Model: hp pavilion ze4900 (PJ947EA#ABU)
4865776C 6574742D 5061636B 61726420

but the oemscan said

Reading BIOS Memory

Matched: Compaq
Checking Authenticity of OEMBIOS files
CAT file currupt: C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Desktop\HPQ\OEMBIOS.CAT

the laptop is definatly a hp pavilion ze4900, so why has it said that it is a compaq, so what set do i use?

Like I said above if it matches Hewlett or Compaq use CD4E1902. Some HP systems embed the word Compaq in their BIOS, its normal. If that isn’t confusing some Compaq’s use “HP Pavilion”

Just wanted to report that OEMScan works perfect with the Panasonic files. Between all of the ToughBooks and all of the Dell laptops I have here, this is going to let me reclaim around 1/3 of my VLK seats at work.

Bezalel and xehqter I really can't thank you guys enough for this :thumbup
