adaxe Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) Hi everybody,I have encountered a very strange problem. HTTP sites cannot be loaded on IE and Mozilla ! Before that, such things were done:1. Spyware doctor found trojant.downloader and removed it.2. In the win XP firewall the exception for p2p networking.exe was removed. The firewall was reset to default settings. After all of that, the magic happened, and I cannot access any HTTP sites, nor ping them. However, secure shell connections work, updates for some stuff can still be downloaded. Any ideas what had happened or what to do? Should I try to repair windows, or to reinstall it from scratch?regards--adaxe Edited March 21, 2006 by adaxe
N1K Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Hmm, very strange, since I don't know what could 'cause this I can advise you to try with system restore and restore the system to previous checkpoint...I hope it'll help..
Scubar Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Seen this problem quite alot lately, heres a few things you can try 1. Start by doing a SFC /SCANNOW2. Check your hosts file.3. Download Hijack This. reboot your pc and then run a scan and save to a logfile. Paste the contents of the logfile into this post so we can see what you have running that might be causing it.
IcemanND Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 find dial-a-fix.exe and try it sounds like some of your dll's need to be reregistered.
LLXX Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 LSPs might need restoring.See LSPfix: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
