west117wolf Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I have an older game called Starfleet Academy and I cannot use the joystick to maneuver the space craft, the x and y axis do not respond. I went into properties and tried all the compatibility modes to no avail.I have tried unplugging the joystick while in the game...no luck either. I also tried changing the numbers on the joystick options file in the game...no change again.I was able to program the hat to use like a steering mechanism. All the other buttons on my Precision 2joystick do communicate with the game...just the axis does not respond.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
LLXX Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Is there anything wrong with the joystick hardware itself? I.e. does it work in another game?
west117wolf Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Joystick works well with all other games.
west117wolf Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Thanks "Hardware Guy". I will have to adjust.

LLXX Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Windows XP is known for this incompatibility with older software... I recommend you dualboot with an older OS like 98SE and run your older software there instead. This way you shouldn't have any problems.
