Scubar
i would like to know how to replace it too, i know that you can currently just change it by adding 2 strings to the registry pointing to the new throbbers which u can place in ur $OEM$ folder. directly replacing the resource within a file would be alot cleaner way of doing it
Mikka
I merely managed to hide¹ it (one may do this during the installation), dunno whether it's possible to simply change the image. (It's feasible for IE, though.)Maybe using a tool like Resource Hacker, Resource Tuner or Restorator 2006.Some sort of guide would be nice! ¹ Works except for "kiosk mode" <F11>

Gouki
I have to admit I have no idea of how to do this!
Scubar
download Resource Hacker. Open shell32.dll using it and then right click the resources u want and save them. edit them using ur fave program eg Photoshop, once u have made the new bitmaps right click the resource u wish to replace and simply put ur new one in its place, save the file. reboot ur pc to test the new shell32.dll if u are happy with it then modifype it and makecab it and integrate it back into ur xp cd source. Lazy8
Does this help?Download Internet Explorer Resource Kit (also included as default installation option of ORKTools).Customize IE6 installation, including large & small animated logo bitmaps.Add resulting files to $OEM$, rebranding initiated through WINNT.SIF. eidenk
With Toobar Control you can customize your throbbers (separately for Explorer and IE) or remove them :http://www.virtualplastic.net/html/down_app.htmlWith RegShot you can monitor what you change with Toolbar Control in the registry :http://www.paraglidernc.com/RegShot.htmlHence you can easily find out what registry entries you need to add to your unattended setup to customize or remove the throbbers.Hope this helps.
