What is Microsoft Visual J# and what does it do? Should I install the updates?

I dont quite understand your question. This is kind of like MS's own Java though I fail to see why someone would need something like that when the original Java is cross platform as long as you have the JVM.

Microsoft Visual J# is for developp program/applet in Java ...

You can update the program to fix bugs or add new features but it's nothing to do in that forum !!!

By the way, in first Windows XP and SP1 (except SP1a), Microsoft give their own Java API (to run applet/program) but now it's not supported and we must (and it's good) to use original Java from www.java.com.
