CptMurphy Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 nope. Just make sure that if you have a firewall, to allow the ip address that your computers have. Also, you should specify a private ip address because xp uses APIPA to assign an address in the range of 168.254.0.0-169.254.255.255. 98 doesn't have this feature. Right-Click your network connection icon, and go to Properties.Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and just beneath that click on Properties. Click the radio button next to Use the Following IP address.Enter in the IP you wish to use, and the subnet mask.
