Epson Cartridges vs 'Compatible'

Dear Folks

Hello. I have an Epson Printer (nothing fancy -it's a C46) and have so far used GENUINE Epson cartridges only (EPSON's guidelines recommend that I stick to their own brand cartridges) but recently I am considering purchasing 'Compatible' cartridges at a fraction of the Epson price. Do you think that there is any advantage in sticking to original Epson product? Does anyone here use 'Compatible' cartridges without any problems? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.

Have a good day. :hello:

"Compatible" cartridges are actually better since in most of them I've noticed the ink is thinner than the genuine ones, and less likely to clog the printheads. The color might be slightly off, but for most purposes it's good enough and they're also much cheaper too.

I have an Epson C80 modded with Continous Ink System... bulk ink is cheap and one bottle (500mL) lasts a *long* time especially when diluted to 10%...

I have the Epson cx3100 and have used compatable inks for the last 12 months, with not a problem.

We use it to print DVD covers for the school and get about 40 - 45 from a set of tanks.

(best MF Printer Ive had too)

Yes, thanks for the good words OldWolf - I've just ordered four compatibles from an online supplier at just ¼ of the Epson price...
