January 18, 200620 yr Hi,We're using Win XP Home. I f user X starts Task Manager he gets an incomplete result. If user Y starts Task Manager he gets a good result. Why? Where does taskmgr.exe gets its parameters to display the Task Manager screen.Best regards.
January 18, 200620 yr are both users loading EXACTLY the same apps/background apps at windows boot?are both of the same member group?do both have the same s/w installed?do both have the same OS preferences set?there's lots of reasons.is there a specific application or process you want help with?
January 18, 200620 yr Task Manager options are per user. Be sure user X has the "Show processes from all users" option checked.
January 18, 200620 yr Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and navigate to: HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ SystemIn the right-pane, double-click DisableTaskMgr and set it's data to 0
January 18, 200620 yr Author Hi nmX.Memmoch,Where do you choose the parameters for Task Manager?Best regards.
January 18, 200620 yr That option is at the bottom of the Processes tab.By "incomplete result" I assume you mean user X doesn't show all running processes?
January 19, 200620 yr I am guessing that is what he means Memnoch. Doesnt it depend on the user's control level? I mean if the user is an admin level user they will get to see everything but if someone is a guest they get to see only their processes that they spawned dont they? Is he probably talking about something like that?
