Does anybody know if there is any way how to have the same toolbar as it is in Windows 98 and Windows Me MS-DOS Prompt:

ms-dos-prompt.png

in Windows XP too? I like it for quick copy and paste from/to DOS applications.

To get it in the right click contect menu of any folder, at least in XP home, you need to edit the registry, add

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd]

@="Open Command Window Here"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd\command]

@="cmd.exe /k \"cd %L\""

In windows xp, same options is in right click ...

It seem it is not.

If I open command line window by running CMD, then yes, there will be these options in right click menu. But cmd.exe is 32-bit application, it is not MS-DOS prompt.

Simple 16-bit MS-DOS prompt can be opened just by running COMMAND. And there is no right-click menu. I need it for copying from/to 16-bit applications.

The DOS emulator for the NT-series OSs don't have as many features as the 9x one. I don't think it's possible to do that.

IMHO one of the most important features that got removed was the Close On Exit option - now you have to run programs from the prompt, otherwise they close before you can even see the output.
